About this course

Erasmus+ Course Objectives

The primary objective of this course is to provide us with innovative ideas for hands-on activities, as STEAM is the most practical and interdisciplinary field of study. It offers a wide range of opportunities for educators and non-STEAM teachers alike, who wish to expand their knowledge and incorporate STEAM curricula into their schools. STEAM is an educational approach that has been globally recognized and implemented across various countries. It is not only limited to STEAM educators and teachers but also to teachers in different fields who can benefit from the program and pass on its benefits to their students. The program aims to develop problem-solving skills and interdisciplinary working habits, which can further contribute to the development of other areas. The topics covered in the course encourage students to consider pursuing STEM career fields and provide real-life solutions to problems. STEAM education is expected to be accessible to everyone, regardless of gender or technical skills. This is because one of STEAM’s primary objectives is to eliminate gender segregation and involve girls and women in science, technology, and mathematics, ensuring gender equality in society.

Course Methodology

The course you will be taking is focused on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Design, and Mathematics). The course content is divided into 11 separated but linked modules that show different approaches and give new ideas on how to get innovative hands-on activities for class. These activities are crucial for all STEM fields, and you will have the chance to pick the ones that suit you best for your respective subject. You will also get an idea of European STEM teaching methods and their application into Czech schools. This training course is ideal for those who provide STEAM education or want to integrate the STEAM approach into their curriculum. The course focuses on creative activities, innovative learning, and teaching methods for students. We also discussed what instructors and teachers can do to get their students into technical areas and motivate them in this direction. Following blended learning methods, you will see that STEM can be applied to everyday life.

·        Module 11 – What is the place of Art in STEAM education, how to participate in education? Imagination and Creativity of Students

·        Module 12 – On-line simulations games for STEAM

DAY 4

·        Module 13 – Gender equality and creating a collaborative learning environment

·        Module 14 – The technical experience at the technical workshop

·        Module 15 – Learning skills through CODING

DAY 5

·        Module 16 – Project-based learning

·        Module 17 – usage of building blocks and sets in STEAM education.

·        Module 18 – LEGO EV3 software environment, sensors, and sample event design.

·        Module 19 – Focus on real-world problems and STEM curricula

Learning outcomes

This course will provide you with the skills necessary to use a variety of innovative blended learning methods and techniques that are hands-on-centered, encourage solving meaningful real-world tasks, and develop transversal competencies. You will learn how to apply Problem and Inquiry-based learning, which is a student-centered teaching method that encourages learning in the context of real-world problems that are likely to be encountered by students. Additionally, you will develop students’ learning autonomy by using a self-directed, hands-on learning approach, elaborating on students’ prior knowledge, triggering an effective use of arguments and evidence, and using questioning as a tool of learning. Throughout the course, you will generate ready-to-use materials and ideas to support the organizational development and quality improvement in the STEM field skills, support cooperation between institutions and employers. You will also develop relevant, high-level skills such as decision making, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and other key competencies through STEM teaching methods, enhancing the good quality of mainstream education. By participating in this course, you will meet colleagues of different nationalities within the EU, engage in a cross-cultural learning experience, exchange ideas, and build a network for future international cooperation. Additionally, you will gain a broader understanding of practices, policies, and systems of education in different countries, cultivate mutual respect, intercultural awareness, and embed common educational and training values. Finally, this course will enrich your communication skills, improve your foreign language competencies, broaden your professional vocabulary, and promote EU’s broad linguistic diversity.

Course Information

This course will include the theory of topic, case studies, discussions, teamwork, team games, visiting related schools-organizations, and having Q&A sections with the people who are having a daily practice. If you are a large group of people we can shape the course on your wished date. If you need a course on a different topic we can organize a customized course for you, just choose a date and a topic. This course is also available for 5 days or 7 days.
